Press Corps

Besides participating as a delegate in one of the numerous comittees, you can also document these events as a reporter or photographer. Have you previously
worked in the editorial team of the students’ magazine of your school or do you even run your own blog? Or are you clever at handling a camera and like designing
a magazine or a homepage? Then you are in the right place at the press corps of SiegMUN.

SiegMUN consists of many parallel events with a large number of participants. As a reporter you keep the participants of SiegMUN up to date about what is going on
during the individual conferences as well as around them. You are, so to speak, the connecting link, the observer of the event but you do NOT take part in the debate
within the committee. First you have to decide which information is of interest to the other participants and which facts are important and worth being reported. Has
anything particularly interesting occurred during the conference that needs to be communicated to the others? For this purpose you visit the various committees at
work, write summaries and articles concerning the event or interview delegates about their point of view.

The information thus collected as well as the finished articles then have to be put into a visually appealing structure (have to be presented in an attractive form) This
is the task of the photographer, designer and layouter. As a photographer you visualize the delegates’ work in the committees. What does the conference room
look like? How many delegates have been interviewed? You select the best pictures and hand them on to the designer and layouter who then edits the pictures and
articles in the Conference Chronicle magazine.

Once the magazine has been edited on the computer, it can go into print and be distributed within a narrow time frame.
