Rifat Emrah Altunya
Chair of the African Union (AU)
My name is Rıfat Emrah Altunya. I am having my master in Roads to Democracy(ies) programme of Universität Siegen. I had my bachelor in International Relations programme of Istanbul Bilgi University. The field that I focus on is democratization progress of developing countries and shifting center of interests on the geopolitical map of the world. I am hoping to have a progressive work with my colleague and dear delegates in SiegMUN 2014. Thank you. | Leony JakobfeuerbornChair of the African Union (AU)
Leony
studies English, Spanish and French at the University of Paderborn. In
2009 while spending seven months in Seattle, WA, she heard of the
concept of Model UN for the first time. Interested in that concept she
joined the Model UN group PaderMUN after being back in Paderborn. Then
in 2011, she attended her first conference: the NMUN in New York. Being
totally overwhelmed and excited about her experiences at the NMUN 2011,
she decided to gain more MUN experience, in particular from different
angles. So she attended the LahnMUN 2011 as the Head Delegate of the
Delegation from Paderborn. Later in July together with Anke Riebau as
SG, she organized her first own conference as Chief of Staff. At the
SiegMUN 2011 she chaired the Human Rights Council as well as the General
Assembly at the PrepMUN 2012 in Paderborn. Being the Vice President of
PaderMUN at that time, she and Anke wanted to achieve more than simple
participation at the NMUN. After a long preparation they took the
Delegation from Paderborn to the NMUN 2012 as Head Delegates and were
recognized as “Distinguished Delegation” but also won an “Outstanding
Position Paper Award” within their own committee. Becoming the President
of PaderMUN in 2011, she served as Secretary-General at the PaderMUN
2012. Leony is very excited about taking the next NMUN generation to
Siegen as well as having the opportunity of being a the Chair of the African Uniom (AU) of the SiegMUN 2014.

Rahel Klein
Chair of the United Nations Development Programm (UNDP)
My name is Rahel Klein, I am 24 years old and since October 2012, I am studying a Masteràs degree in Political Science. Five years ago, I was a delegate at the first SiegMUN and it was my very first MUN-experience at all. Conferences in Hamburg, New York and Lithuania followed – as a delegate, as a member of the media and press team, as a chair and now, in 2014, as one of the Secretary Generals. I am happy to celebrate the fifth birthday of the SiegMUN with all of you and I am looking forward to a great conference. | Moritz Limbacher
Chair of the United Nations Development Programm (UNDP)
Hey, my Name is Moritz and my MUN career is short but really intense. It started with the interest for international diplomatics a long time ago and the SiegMUN 2013 in last year. While serving as a staff member first, my interest in being a delegate grew and so I represented the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in the ECOSOC. That aroused my thirst for more: I represented Timor Leste in 2014’s Harvard WorldMUN Brussels DISEC, as well as China in this years PaderMUN 2014 General Assembly.
I have also kept in mind to do all the ground work: For this year, my job is organizing a lot of conference stuff, redesigning flyers, websites, emails and all the other conference materials, as well as helping to prepare MUN newbies on „how to be a delegate“. I am also going to chair this years United Nations Development Programme, together with Manuel and the help of our fully experienced Secretary General Rahel. I'm looking forward to meeting you all, as well as spending an amazing conference together, inside and outside of the committee! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact our great organizing team or our chairs.

My name is Florian Hagenbeck, currently I am studying in my Master’s degree in political science at the University of Freiburg. I first got in touch with MUN when I was doing my Bachelor at the University of Mannheim. Ever since, I took as many opportunities as possible to participate in MUN conferences. John Underwood
Chair of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europa (OSEC)
Greetings, my name is, John Underwood, and hail from the United States, having obtained at B.A. in Political Science with a minor in History at Oklahoma State University (Go Pokes!). I live in Siegen on my own accord, and have since chosen to return to school. I am currently studying for a masters of arts, Roads to Democracies at the Siegen University. The Model UN experience has been an exciting experience for me to get to know people from all over the world, making possible career connections through networking, and being able to participate in real world challenges.
My first experience was participating in Harvard University’s World MUN in Brussels with a great group of folks representing SiegMUN. I was in the World International Property Rights (WIPO) Committee with the esteemed Co-Secretary General of this year’s SiegMUN, Sebastian Nentwig. Apart from learning so much I learned the value of capitalism from the fine group of Harvard MUNers, who were excellent at pushing to buy more and more of their merchandise, which I promise SiegMUN is more interested in NOT doing. So please Enjoy and have Fun at this incredible opportunity!

Sebastian Nentwig
Chair of the Historical Security Council (HSC)
My name is
Sebastian Nentwig and I’m 25 years old. I am currently studying Master in Media Studies at the University of Siegen. Since 2011 I’ve been an active member of
MUN Siegen and participated in the Security Council of SiegMUN 2011. In April
2012 I was a member of our delegation representing Mauritania
at the National Model United Nations in New
York. During the last SiegMUN in 2012 I was in the
organization team and a member of the SC as well.
Beside
university and MUN I’m in a table tennis club, read books (especially horror
novels by Stephen King), watch movies and listen to rock music. I’m interested
in astronomy and astronautics and also in world affairs and politics.
For me the most important thing at MUN is to get in
contact with other people, cultures and to get to know about other views and
opinions. It is exciting to step into other point of views, playing “in
character” and representing positions that are (maybe) contrary to your own. Now I take a look from the other side, chairing the amazing Historical Security Council.

Robert F. Fernholz
Chair of the Historical Security Council (HSC)
My name is Robert F. Fernholz and I will be part of the chairs of the Historical Security Council: The Falkland War 1982. I am 27 years old, my main subject at the university are historical and religious studies, with the aim of Staatsexamen I. In the 2012 session of the SiegMUN I participated as the delegate of Russia in the Security Council. In 2013 I participated as a delegate of the United Kingdom during a crisis simulation concerning the Senkaku-Inseln in the Security Council as well. As for this year I am organizing the Historical Security Council, which is my first time to do so, therefore I am looking forward to a great conference. In times, in which I am not occupied with university obligations, I read, but I have to admit most time this is in one way or another still connected to my interests in history and politics. (At the moment I am reading Sir Winston Churchill’s memoirs, for a second time) For me MUN is on one side a great base to meet people, who share the interest for politics and diplomatic processes. On the other side it is a fascinating roll-play experiment and experience, as especially a historical MUN, in which you can s step into a historical situation and get a feeling for the processes, which shaped today’s world order. According to this I am sure that you will enjoy this year’s Historical Security Council: The Falkland War 1982.
| Amrita Sukumar
Chair of the Historical Security Council (HSC)
My Name is Amrita Sukumar. I have participated in Sieg Model United
Nation Conference 2012, Representing India in Human Right Council. At
University Siegen, I am studying Master in Economic Policy. Siegen was the
first place where I discovered my love for Model United Nation. SiegMUN 2012
was the capstone of my Model United Nation experience. My
SiegMUN was a varied, engrossing, relevant and
academically rigorous experience. It’s an experience where I am short on words.
Without SiegMUN 2012, I would never have the opportunity to be in such close
contact with the honourable chair and other fellow delegates from all part of world. I felt extremely privileged to attend this
conference. SiegMUN 2012 gave me an opportunity to represent India as a
delegate.
After SiegMUN 2012, I participated in NMUN NY 2013. I found that this is where
my skill, happiness and interest lie. It is this challenging environment to
which I intend to contribute by evolving meaningful and optimal solutions to
various problems. NMUN 2013 taught me the relevance of actually sharing the idea
with others cordially. It was wonderful to wake up early in morning and think
you have a great responsibility as a delegate. I think this was the greatest
experience when preparing for your life time carrier. It helped me improve my
communication skills and developed an ability to work in a team, and build up
my self-confidence.
Last year I
chaired of United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) at SiegMUN 2013. I am looking forward
to meet more diversified people representing different delegation. It would be
interesting to look into these broader perspectives and come to
a common solution. I am excited for this
program, because this will be my second year chairing at the MUN.
